The great walking route of the Eastern Pyrenees joins its two most emblematic places: Núria and the Canigó. Cross-border circular crossing that follows the historical paths traversed for centuries by transhumant shepherds and their flocks, and brings us closer to places as local as Ulldeter, and as lonely as Mentet or the lakes of Carançà.
Considered for a long time the highest mountain in the Pyrenees due to its imposing slope from the sea floor, the Canigó massif became the sacred mountain of the Catalan Countries. Four stages of contrasts between large monasteries, steep peaks, Atlantic forests and Mediterranean climate.
From lake to lake by the highest peaks of the Eastern Pyrenees. Ponds are the joy of mountain scenery, and on this route we will enjoy them! More than fifty lakes distributed in five stages of high mountains in the area of Carlit, Puig Peric and La Bullosa. Peaks and viewpoints across the Cerdanya, Capcir and Ariège.
From the Camprodon valley to the cliffs of the Mediterranean coast, five stages on foot connect the high valleys of the Pyrenees with the sea. We will be accompanied by an exuberant variety of landscapes, from the high mountains to the coastal ecosystems, passing through the lush forests of the middle mountains of the Vallespir, the Garrotxa and the Empordà.
