WHAT IS IT?

El Tour del Canigó is a self-guided high and middle mountain route, open to everyone. A Pas d’Isard takes charge of booking accommodation and provide all the required information and other necessary services for a safe, comfortable trek.

DATES WHEN TO GO?

The season of the trek will be open from June to October, the months in which shelters are open and snow has disappeared.

ACCOMMODATION

The type of accommodation along the crossing is mountain refuges and an old mining construction. If you want to rest in a small town before or after walking, you can stay in a hotel in Prats de Molló or in Vernet, two charming villages at the foot of the Canigó, both beside the thermal baths.

Service information

GETTING TO THE STARTING POINT BY CAR

It is recommended to start in Vetera because it is the only refuge where you can arrive by car, and by paved road, passing by the villages of Arles and Cortsaví, in Vallespir (Northern Catalonia).

GETTING TO THE STARTING POINT USING PUBLIC TRANSPORT

A cross-border bus connects Camprodon (El Ripollès) with Prats de Molló, from where you should take a taxi to La Llau (10 km) and then walk to Sant Guillem (1 h 15 min). The other option is to take a bus from Perpignan to Arles, and from there a taxi to Vetera (20 km).
