La Marenda, in Northern Catalonia, and the sea of Amunt, in the Alt Empord\u00e0, are these two sectors of the Catalan coast joined by the crest of the axial Pyrenees when it reaches the sea. A sector of wild and rugged coastline, still considered by many to be the Costa Brava, dotted with charming towns that for centuries have been more closely related through the sea than inland. The paths chosen for the journey unite them between vineyards, cliffs and defense towers.<\/p>\n

Route and profile<\/h3>\n

The journey, 66 km spread over five days, joins the most charming villages in this area: Collioure, Banyuls, Portbou, Llan\u00e7\u00e0, Port de la Selva and Cadaqu\u00e9s. Geographically, we will be between Catalan cross-border regions of Roussillon and Alt Empord\u00e0, territories with a strong personality shaped by the wind, wine farming, the border, the appearance of the train and fishing.<\/p>\n

Natural environment<\/h2>\n

First we will cross the cliffs and the vineyards of La Marenda, and then we will cross two special protection natural spaces: the Albera Natural Area of National Interest, and the Cabo de Creus Natural Park, both in the Alt Empord\u00e0, fully Mediterranean spaces with many characteristic elements of the fauna, flora and seashore gea.<\/p>\n

We will walk through a landscape touched by the north-wind Tramuntana, a land of artists who have left their legacy, whether they were born here or have come from abroad to paint its natural wonders.
